Edwin W. Bailey Jr was born on January 8, 1950, at Mariemont Hospital. Eddie's dad, Edwin W. Senior was from the

Goshen High School Class of 1948. He married Mildred Marie Irwin who was a 30-year employee of Goshen schools.

The Bailey and Irwin families have lived in the Goshen area for many generations and have continued the tradition.

Eddie graduated in the GHS Class of 1968. He played football, ran track, member of the golf team, the volleyball team, and was the captain of the basketball team. Eddie was the Vice President of the student council and in two-class plays.

The Junior class plays Boys and Ghouls Together and the Senior class plays We Dude It.

Eddie married Deborah McFadden, a Class of 1970 graduate. Debbie has worked for Goshen Schools for 37 and 1/2 years. They have 3 daughters. Tricia, class of 1988, was a recipient of the Kathy Irwin Memorial Award and a graduate of Wilmington College. Julie, Class of 1990, married James Spreen, also a Goshen graduate, and their son Logan Spreen, Class of 2014, is currently on the dean's list at UC. Kareen, their youngest child graduated with the Goshen Class of 2000.

Eddie has one sister, Lou Anne Bailey McKinney, who was the valedictorian for the Class of 1971, and a brother Keith, who graduated with the Class of 1974. All the Bailey family reside in Goshen.

Eddie became a bricklayer for 43 years and has worked on countless commercial job sites around Cincinnati. He was the layout man for the masonry on the new Goshen High School for 8 months.

Eddie says he has the greatest respect for Coaches John Libbee and Jim Brown, teacher Devin McClung and Principal Willis Gormley.

Along with Joe Steele, another Goshen Graduate, Eddie has enjoyed the pleasure of volunteering to run the chains on Friday nights for the past 45 years and counting.
