Geronda Dale

Geronda Dale was born in Croma, Ky on March 15, 1940. Geronda’s family moved to Wayland Ky when he was three. They lived in Wayland for ten years and then moved to Lexington Ky for one year. The Dale family moved to Goshen when Geronda was a sophomore.

In his three years at Goshen, he played on five different sports teams, volleyball,, track, baseball, football, and basketball. Geronda became Goshen High School’s all-time leading scorer with 2011 points, as well as all-league in four different sports. Geronda was also captain of Goshen’s first football team in 1956 under coach Jim Brown. Geronda graduated in 1957 and attended Wilmington College.

After graduating from high school, Geronda married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie Voshell. They have been married for 55 years and have two sons, David and Jay who also graduated from Goshen. The Dale’s have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Geronda went to work at United Dairy Farmers. He retired after 43 years. During his time living in Goshen, Geronda spent 30 years working with the Goshen youth. He was one of the founders of Goshen jr sports and was President of the high school athletic booster for six years. Bonnie was the Clerk for the Goshen Board of Education for many years.

Currently, Bonnie and Geronda are living in Florida.
