Ron McHenry

Class of 1965 | 2024 Hall of Fame

Ronald John McHenry of Pleasant Plain, Ohio,  graduated from Goshen High School with the class of 1965. While at Goshen High School, Ron's athletic accomplishments were truly remarkable. He lettered an incredible 12 times across four different sports, winning three letters in football, three letters in basketball, two in volleyball, and four in baseball. Ron excelled at the highest level in the Clermont County League (CCL), earning All-Conference honors for football (1965), baseball (1964,1965), and basketball (1964,1965).

Ron's talents on the gridiron and hardwood earned him the opportunity to continue his athletic career at the University of Cincinnati. As a three-year starter, he was part of a Bearcats defensive secondary that led the nation in pass defense. Ron's tenacity and ball hawking skills helped shut down opposing passing attacks.

Ron received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati, class of 1969 and a law degree from the University of Cincinnati, class of 1972.  For over five decades, he has been a respected attorney serving the Goshen area communities with his law office at 212 W. Main Street, Blanchester, OH.  However, Ron's impact has extended far beyond the law office and courtroom and comes back to Goshen High School through his role of administering the Edgar Springman Scholarship Fund. His dedication has helped steer over $1.2 million in scholarships  to Goshen High School  graduating seniors who are pursuing higher education.

Ron's unwavering commitment to excellence, both as a student athlete and as a community leader, make him an exemplary addition to the Goshen High School Alumni Association Hall of Fame. His accomplishments on the athletic fields and courts have been matched by his distinguished professional career and lifetime of service to his Goshen High alma mater.
